Finding Inspiration in Every Turn

Scents

The Candlemaid collection is inspired by the landscapes, coastlines and quiet rhythms of Cornwall.

Each fragrance begins with a sense of place, the warmth of sunlight on stone, the calm of sea air, the softness of sand underfoot. Rather than overwhelming a space, our scents are designed to feel balanced and atmospheric, gently unfolding as the candle burns.

Using carefully crafted fragrance, every Candlemaid candle is created to evoke a moment, a landscape, or a feeling drawn from the coast.

Treth — Beach

Treth takes its name from the Kernewek word for beach.

Creamy coconut and soft vanilla open the scent with warmth, while cedarwood and vetiver settle beneath, earthy and grounding. Together they create a fragrance that feels sun-warmed and calm.

Treth was created to capture the feeling of unhurried days by the water, warm sand underfoot, light dancing across the sea, and the slow rhythm of the tide.

Mor — Sea

Mor is the Kernewek word for sea.

Fresh, mineral notes evoke salt-kissed air and wide open water, softened with subtle woods that recall driftwood warming in the sun.

Mor brings the atmosphere of the coast indoors, cool sea air, quiet horizons and the steady presence of the ocean.

Howl — Sun

Howl takes its name from the Kernewek word for sun.

Bright, uplifting notes of Indian lemongrass and lime peel bring freshness and warmth, creating a vibrant citrus scent with a clean, energising feel.

Howl is a daytime candle, inspired by clear skies, fresh coastal air, bright mornings, and the gentle warmth of sun by the sea.

Loor — Moon

Loor is  the Kernewek word for moon.

Soft florals of jasmine and ylang ylang unfold gently, creating a calm and comforting scent with a warm, lingering depth.

Loor is designed for the evening, inspired by the quiet transition from day to night, where the light softens, the air settles and the coast becomes still and reflective.
